MCS Moser 10

This MCS Moser 10 string was ordered before there was an "MCS". It's been over 3 years in the works.

The Moser 10 is an original Neal Moser design created in September 1977.

This guitar is dedicated to the Luthier's out there who have been around long enough to know that some guitars just don't want to be built. Once in a great while you will build a guitar that follows "Murphy's law". What ever can go wrong, WILL go wrong. As you look at this beautiful guitar be aware that it has had 3 finger boards, 2 head plates, 3 sets of binding and 3 sets of inlays. Not to mention sawing the wings off and starting over with a NEW neck-through blank within the first week of building because I didn't like the Flame pattern on the first one. There were so many stumbling blocks on the road to building this guitar that I even offered the customer his money back. He said NO, he wanted the guitar. Well, his patience and understanding won out in the end because he is getting ONE AWESOME guitar. Thanks Alex for hanging in there.

Specs: Straight grained Maple neck-through construction with a Fiddle back Flame Maple cap. Solid Fiddle back Flame Maple wings. Ebony finger board with "Snowflake" diamond inlays. Bound finger board and bound matching Fiddle back Flame Maple head cap. Real pearl engraved truss rod cover and real bone nut. DiMarzio Super 2 in the bridge position and DiMarzio PAF in the neck position. Quan Badass Bridge. Grover Super Rotomatic machine heads with the Imperial button. My FULL electronics package and vintage 70's knobs. Dunlop Strap Lock and a GMW paint job.

There were many times I didn't think this guitar would ever happen and frankly, I'm DAMN glad it's finished. :-)

The cycle is complete. The guitar got safely to Spain in one piece and this is Alex's letter about the guitar.

Hi, this is Alex from Spain.

Well, I’m still trying to get up off the floor after opening the case and seeing my Moser 10. It’s the most amazing guitar I’ve ever seen in person.
I’m very satisfied with this guitar, it fills my soul completely.
It is incredible, I don’t know enough words in English to express myself properly.
Thanks for your art work, I haven’t spent a better time than the time I had to wait for this guitar to get here. You filled ALL my expectations.
It looks amazing, but the sound is crazy, it can be like THUNDER or like a SATIN GLOVE. I think I’ll need a life time to realize all the sounds this guitar has.
The preamps are incredible, I don’t need any external overdrives, all I have to do is use the clean channel of my Elmwood Tube Amp. Fantastic.

Do you have a book to tell me how the controls work?
I think I’ll need to go to a University to learn how all these controls work. :-)
Can you send me a drawing to show the function of every control?

I still haven’t seen the pics on the CD you sent, but I’ll do that this weekend.
I will send a pic of me and my Moser 10 as soon as possible.
You will get more news from me after my summer holidays.
