Inside the Shop "BEASTMASTER"
This guitar was built for Brian Hoffman and is NOT available as a Moser Custom Shop model.
|

When Brian and I decided to do this project,
we had one small problem, it was May 10, 04 and he needed the guitar by
June 1, 04. He was leaving for Europe to play at the Dynamo Festival.
Well, that was almost an impossible task. On top of that, Sal, who does
most of my body blank lay-up, neck inlay and neck shaping decided to take
a week off. So, I turned off the phone and locked myself in the shop for
a week, well, all but Wednesday (golf day). Anyway, 5 full days of working
and the Beastmaster is finished and ready for paint. We are doing the
guitar in "satin black" with chrome hardware. Lee (GMW) assures
me that he can do satin black in 1 week, so I should have the guitar back
by May 25th. That should give me enough time to build it, ship it and
get it there by the 1st of June. Normally I would not drop everything to build one guitar, but everyone at MCS agreed that this was a wonderful opportunity and needed to be done. I thank Brian Hoffman for his help and confidence. He is truly one of the industries "nice guys” and I'm honored to be his friend.. |

This is a Plexiglas truss rod template. No,
you can't buy them, you have to make them. :-) |
Also, a Plexiglas headstock template. You
have to make that as well. :-) |

This is a serious guitar. A "manly"
axe. |
Ugh, inlay, I don't do much, bad
eyes, but it's kinda like riding a bike. |

The Beastmaster is an all Mahogany neck through
guitar with an Ebony finger board, Kahler trem, 1 humbucker and 1 volume.
Definitely a working axe. |

I should probably write something in there
saying I built the bloody thing in 5 days. I'm gettin' to old for that
kind of PRESSURE. |

The BEASTMASTER Prototype. Thanks for the
opportunity Brian. |

Wow, this baby went to paint on May 17th and
came back on May 24th. Lee's DA MAN. Now, I've got to assemble it ASAP. |

May 25th. Finished. (Damn I'm good) :-) |

Grover Super Rotomatics with the Imperial
head. Stainless steel truss rod cover. Kahler locking clamp. |
We had to paint this guitar "Satin Black"
due to the time frame for delivery. This guitar was started May 10th and
shipped on May 27th. |

Kahler "flat mount" tremolo. DiMarzio
Super 2. |
Real bone nut. Pearl Moser "Tribal M" |

Paul and Brian are good friends and Paul got in a few licks on Brian's
Beastmaster. |
