Seagull Jr.
Owner: Julian Matthew
|
This Seagull Jr. was
sent to me by Tom Tulotta of Bronxville NY. The Seagull Jr. has
an unbound Rosewood finger board and slightly different electronics.
It needed a crack in the headstock repaired, new electronics, a
complete new bottom side, a refinish and a complete setup. Tom had
already done a fret job on the guitar. He did a good job and the
guitar set up very well. This is really a beautiful Seagull. It
plays great and I had forgotten how good these old Guild pickups
sound, especially when you split the coils. |

Seagull Jr. electronics are a little
different than the later electronics package.
The pickup selector switch is located in the same place as a Les
Paul. The rest of the electronics are in the normal BCR location.
However, the switch functions are different. The bottom left switch
is on-off. The switch to it's right is an out of phase switch. The
booster volume and on-off switch next to each other and the switch
below the booster switch is a dual coil split switch. The master
volume is below the bridge and the tone is closest to the butt. |

This is a great set of progression pics.
The top three were taken by Tom and sent to me. I received the guitar
in the condition of the top right picture. The bottom left pic is
after we changed the bottom half. The bottom center pic was when
it came back from GMW after being refinished. The final pic was
taken on 2-23-04 after It was completely finished.
I want to thank Tom for his patience during this project. Tom sent
this guitar to me just as we were starting to get MCS up and running
and it took way too long to finish. Thanks for the understanding
Tom. I think you'll like the final outcome.
