California World Guitar Show

Moser Custom Shop decided to step out of the internet and into the real world, so we participated in the California World Guitar Show held at the Santa Monica Civic here in Southern Cal. Now, before I go any further, I must tell you that the World Guitar Show is 99% vintage guitars. Well, you can imagine the response we get from.....uh........shall we say, the "purists". You get a lot of "gee.......uh.....there kind of.......uh......well.......uh........ART". hehe
I wasn't surprised when most of the clientele homed in on my Les Paul. I could have sold it 3 or 4 times. Oh well, it wasn't for sale. I just wanted to have something in the booth that would draw in the purists and let them know that we also build things OTHER than metal guitars.

Our target audience was all over the booth, (their parents stood outside the booth). :-)

In all seriousness, we had a great weekend and I ran into more people I haven't seen for ages. The guitars were accepted and all but the "die hard purists" thought they were COOL. In reality, we didn't go to this show with much to sell, we mostly wanted to get our feet wet and let the locals know we existed. I believe we succeeded. We'll do the show again next year.

Friday, set up day. Me tryin' to be cool.
Earlleen, always lookin' good.

A nice pic of Brian Hoffman playing his MCS Beastmaster
Earlleen making final adjustments

Lots of guitars, but this is Friday and the show doesn't open till Saturday.
These people are all exhibitors.

OK, Saturday is here and this is our booth all set up.

Back left is Takanori Terada's Bich PMS #11 which he was kind enough to let us use for this show. Thanks Taka-san, you're the best.
On the right is Scythe NT #1.
On the left is my Les Paul Special that I built a number of years ago and would never part with. However, it was a good "lure" to get the purists to come into the booth. hehe

Left to right: BVi, project neck, Stanley/Bailey #6 bench plane, Phoenix Prototype under construction.
Actually, this is Brian Hoffman's bench plane, or will be as soon as I can ship it to him. :-)

This is our red with black bevels BVi import Bastard Vi. I like the black with silver bevels best.
My ad for Kahler bridges. I'm elated they're available again.

Me and Earlleen smiling even though our feet are killing us.
Me and Mal. He likes the BVi with the red with black bevels best.

Left to right: Sean, Laura, Neal, Carlos. It's really great when friends come to support you.
The Saturday crowd.

Takanori Terada's Bich PMS #11.        Takanori also owns Bich PMS #7.

This is the one many of you have been waiting to see finished. Morpheus 10 string #1.
This is truly a wicked guitar.

This guitar was quite a project.
Scythe NT #1

Metallic black. I really like this color. When you see it from a distance it looks black.

BVi   red/black.
BVi   black/red

BVi   black/silver.

This lovely Playboy Bunny dropped by our booth. Yeah, trade shows are great. :-)
